JS550/SX Yamaha Conversion Instructions

Similar to the 650-750-800 Conversion Plates start with removing the old Yamaha Cradle

Install the provided hardware in the bolt holes where the cradle was once installed and torque to Yamaha specs. (First to 23 ft-lbs then to 53 ft-lbs)
The shorter bolt goes in the spot shown below

After that is done remove the back six crank case bolts (Do not misplace they will be reused in the same spot)

At this point it will be good to do some testing to verify which set of holes you will be using on your ski. This varies by year and model sadly.
Measure from your bulkhead to end of coupler.
Back set of holes will be 8"
Front set of holes will be 8.5"

Shown Below will be the 8" Set of holes.

8.5" Will use the forward set of holes.

Now add the bolts that were removed from the crankcase earlier.

Torque in the correct sequence first to 15 ft-lbs then to 28 ft-lbs

Once that is done we can move on to prepping the hull.

If your bulkhead to coupler measured to 8" You will have to modify the battery tray and motor mount.

Trim a small section from the battery tray as shown below. 1" in every direction on the corner will be plenty of space for the motor.

Trimming your motor mount is super easy if mounted in the ski (It will make a mess so be sure to have a vacuum. 
This can be done with a dremel or angle grinder for the crazy folk. You can trace out the mount with the bedplate for the proper amount to remove. There shouldnt be any rubber removal just the top metal portion of the mount needs to be modified.

Installing the Ebox bracket is next.
We are starting with everything removed.

Install the coupler cover with the two included 10mm nuts

Install the bracket with the coupler cover attached using the M6 Low profile allan heads.

Use this included hardware and spacers to mount the ebox

You will have to bend this metal bracket or remove it complete by snipping the rivets. (I chose to leave it)

Use the included Socket head bolts to install your ebox (This may have to be done while dropping the motor in)

Now that your ebox is installed or ready to be installed lets drop the motor in

The two piece motor mounts allow for a large amount of adjustment, Please mess around with motor mount alignment before shimming the motor. 

Congrats you made it this far. at this point install your exhaust of choice which is very limited on these 550 Hulls.
